One of my favourite bands has released two new 'compilation' albums: Meet The Eels, Essential Eels (The hits) and Eels, Useless Trinkets (B-sides etc). I cannot possibly condone anyone buying the Essential Eels as you should own their albums anyway! A great place to start is Beautiful Freak - although this doesn't show the band at their best, it is the most accessible album. Get the magnificent Blinking Lights And Other Revelations then work back from Shootenanny! and Souljacker.
Also Mark Everett (E) has written a book all about his family called Things The Grandchildren Should Know.
